This is the first I have heard about broken demos.
Why does the terminal make a difference?
Is this because of UTF-8 encoding? But that is not specific to qt.

I have no opinion on the windows default terminal.
If there is consensus that it should be changed,
it would be good to make that change soon.
I was thinking that January 1 would be a good target date for
the 5.4.3 minor release, and planned to package up a testing
tarball 5.4.3-alpha next week.
