gnuplot web extension

Hi, I am a bioinformatics student from India,
I have an assignment to develop a web-based graph plotting program.
I would like to how can I implement  the gnuplot as a web extension, any 
seperate lib/modules are available. If you could provide some light on the 
same, it would be  of great help. please tell me about any sample cgi 
scripts also.

Then you should do so.  I'm quite sure that 'develop a program' doesn't 
cover just using an existing program.

gnuplot is not a "web extension" (whatever exactly that may be supposed 
to mean).  It's an interactive program, which can also be used as a 
back-end by other programs if you redirect its input and/or output.  If 
that's not information for you, I'm afraid gnuplot isn't what you need.
