(s)plot 1/0 does not work

I've just noticed that
 	plot 1/0
 	splot 1/0
does not work:

gnuplot> plot 1/0
               ^
          invalid expression

gnuplot>

(Thus e.g. "test palette" does not work.)

Someone knows what's the problem?

Yes.  I fear that's my fault.  An expression not containing dummy
variables is evaluated to test for a string.  The attached patch
fixes the behaviour.
