OK, guys, I did it.

A minute ago, I've uploaded the final release tarball to both my webspace
and to SF.net.  The very last last-minute change was Clark's go over all
the links in gnuplot.doc (and a corresponding rebuild of gnulot.texi by
me).

(Lars: sorry, that means you may have to download once more).

So: everybody fire up your compilers and make binary packages, so 
we can hopefully post the announcement today.

 There is no gnuplot.texi update in cvs, it seems.

Great.

Binary packages for OS/2, W32 and W32+X11 are in the directory files/ at the
gnuplot sf web page. Release date is written as April 16. The file is called
400.zip. Plese unzip it and move to proper FILES .. I don't know how.

They should also go to
	/home/groups/g/gn/gnuplot/ftp
together with the source .tar.gz and ANNOUNCEMENT to replace the older one.

Please copy this ann. to file announcement-gnuplot_4_0.txt on the web page
so that it gets mirrored.

Looking forward to the announcement.


For cgaylord: please chgrp + chmod ftp/ directory on SF web page.

 Petr, I need short descriptions of these packages, something along these
 lines:

gp373dj2.zip            Size: 612k
gp373dj2.zip.asc
    32-bit DOS version, compiled with DJGPP, plus signature.
    This version includes GIF and PNG support.
    Contributed by H.-B. Broeker.

gp373dos.zip            Size: 460k
gp373dos.zip.asc
    16-bit DOS version, compiled with BC3.1, plus signature.
    No GIF and PNG support. Contributed by H.-B. Broeker.

Like that:

gp400os2.zip
OS/2 version with X11, PNG, and TrueType support.

gp400w32.zip
Win32 version compiled by MingW with PNG and TrueType support. Contains
wgnuplot executables with and without unixish pipes support, and pgnuplot
for stdin piping from external programs.

gp400w32x11.zip
Win32 version for Cygwin and an X-server with PNG and TrueType support. True
console application with X11 terminal, not with Windows terminal.
