Hi, thanks for the pointer. A linux hardware database is a good idea. What have you got so far? I was looking at CLAN w.r.t automating the download, build and install of kernel modules: http://fc-solve.berlios.de/CLAN/ I'm also going towards using XSA to check new modules' versions. I haven't given much thought about automatic hardware probing in gmodconfig. I think Red Hat and others already have tools to do this, which could be leveraged.
