As a stopgap, I've applied this script hack to qgle. It starts and seems 
to work (I don't really know how to use qgle). But when I do Help -> 
Manual (or equivalently F1), I get the dialog box:

File not found: /usr/share/gle/doc/gle-manual.pdf.gz'

Is it supposed to be the gle manual gle-manual.pdf? Why it is searched as 
a .gz? How to explain to qgle that it is installed in 
/usr/share/doc/gle-4.3.6/gle-manual.pdf?
