I think that now the labels and subticks behavior is logical and better than it was before. I also did a little testing and everithing works as expected. When I was talking about changing the default behavior I meant just what you did with with the "*labels log off", which previously defaulted to also switch the subticks off and now it does not; this is exactly what I prefer but I was not sure that you would change it for compatibility. Now, I'm perfectly happy with the new version. The only thing I fail to see is the difference between "log off" and "log n1": they both switch off the labels on subticks, keep them on by default and do not interfere with the *subtick setting. But maybe the difference consists in a different interaction with dticks, which at the moment I don't understand very well because I'm relatively new with GLE and I didn't happen to need it.
