I don't know if anyone will see this, but I thought I'd try. My trusty jukebox computer finally died after serving me well for going on 20 years, and I figured this might be a good opportunity to move to something that's still being developed, but I can't find anything that does what I need it to do.
My ideal is to have a computer in my stereo cabinet that I just power up and it plays random songs through the stereo unless I select something. I don't need it to stream to my phone or to another computer. I don't need it to allow me to vote on my favorite songs. I don't need scrobbling (whatever that is) or have it find details of the songs or the artists playing from the 'net. Basically, I need my old jukebox functionality back.
Unfortunately, Linux has moved on many iterations since the last time I installed what was then called Globecom Jukebox, and the install scripts have not kept up with the changes. I have the most current scripts but they need a lot of work, and there are some dependencies that I'm not sure how to resolve.
Reading the old forums, I see that there were slightly more recent installers that were available on danwood.me, but that web site no longer is on the web. I was wondering if anyone still has that last version of the installer that they are willing to share with me.
I realize that I will still have to do a lot of work to bring it up to the present day, but I figured I'd have a head start if I had scripts from 2013, rather than trying to go back to 2002. My other option would be to restore my last backup and continue to use the old, old version of Debian that had been rock solid until the hardware gave out.

Thanks for the reply, Roel. I tried archive.org before and maybe I didn't know how to work it because I saw the danwood.me site listed but it would never connect. It did this morning and I was able to get the 2.2 version of his installer. I'm going to give this a try. I'll let you (and anyone who's still reading this) know how I work out.

wow, that's a long long long time ago that I thought about this project.My installation was shutdown at least 20 years ago..
