(I'm covering this to)Hi to all: (Dimitar, Thiago, Vikram): This message is the first of the list. It is the intention to this list to help to us the deployment of the gCommander project. First of all, thanks to all of you to help this project. The Main goal of this project is to give gnome an application to manage FileSystem (Copy, Move, Rename, View, Edit, etc) in only one program, in an easy way to do that. Once said that, I am going to explain which are the tasks that we would have (in my opinion) to do for the first stage: 1) Until now, the main window is almost complette, the navigation between the diferent panels are already supported, the navigation of directory tree is working. There are various fixes to do: - The tab button must navigate from one panel to the other and not focus the other objects. - The status bar must show the info about the selected file/folder and the panel selected and his folder (i'm on this) - The navigation between folders must check if the directory exists, if not, could posibily throw and exception (I'm on this to) - The API who give the default gnome icon (of the selected theme) of a file, throw a Warning saying that is obsolete, we must change for the right one. 2) Select / Undo Select Files: The posibility to select the file and folders with some **patterns** like * or. (I'm covering this to) 3) Create Folder Dialog: This dialog is for create folder and files. (I'm covering this to) 4) Copy/Move Files: This is one of the main tasks. The idea of this task is to make a dialog with progressbar, to copy or move files. Maybe a possibility is to use a gnome internal library with PInvoke or the Gnome.Vfs (Gnome-Sharp Library) to copy/move files. 5) Rename Files: It is the idea of this task to rename files or folders (Selected) 6) Delete Files: It is the idea to delete the current selected file (if it is the only selected) or all of the files if its are selected. (This is related to the second point ) 7) Execute Custom Action: the idea is to execute custom action, typed in the "Execute" Text Entry. (Example: If i want to execute vi, i type vi and press button execute) 8) Drives and Devices: Is the idea to detect when a folder is a device, and change the icon. The posibility to have direct access from the toolbar button to the floppy disk or the CD/DVD disk. 9) File Permissions: the idea is to change/see the attributes of the files/folders selected (The owner to) 10) Search File: the idea is an automatically search for a pattern (maybe regular expression) between directory tree. 11) View Files: the idea is to call the "default" gnome editor, (or maybe a configurable editor) and open the current selected file. 12) Edit File: the idea (maybe the most dificult task) is to deploy and hexa/text editor to see binary/text files. (In the future it is a plan to see images/gzip/tar etc). Feel free to take one of this task, and start coding. Maybe the best is to send an e-mail to the list to tell us that you are working on one of this task. The svn is checked out (all with the command): svn co https://gnomecommander.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/gnomecommander gnomecommander This svn is (in this moment) organized in /md/gcommander in this folder is the MonoDevelop Solution file. In the project Solution there are various files, and folders: MainWindow.cs (like the name says, the main window File) and 2 folders, fs (wich have all the fileSystem Operations/Class) and UI (wich have all the UserInterfase Operations/Class). Feel free to modify anythink, i'm not expert in nothing, maybe it is all wrong :) The code is actually very/basic and under heavy deployment. Bye to all!!! And i wait for your questions/suggestions/Code Luciano. Ps: Sorry!!! I am still not fluent in English (Thanks Dimitar to teach this phrase) _________________________________________________________________ Consigue aquí las mejores y mas recientes ofertas de trabajo EE.UU. http://latino.msn.com/empleos |
