I think default/menus should have this minor change added in MenuFvwmWindowStyle before the next release. + "%menu/window.xpm%TitleAtLeft" Pick (CirculateHit) Style $n TitleAtLeft + "%menu/window.xpm%TitleAtRight" Pick (CirculateHit) Style $n TitleAtRight I'm also trying to prepare some other things if I can submit a patch in time. Hello, - I am bit surprised by the fact that the "Headlines" menu are in the Programs submenu. Unfortunately, I've no simple good idea. But maybe we should add a "Bookmarks" submenu in the root menu and put the "Headlines" in this submenu as well as some of the links of the Help submenu. Maybe this need a new component menu-bookmarks (and menu-bookmarks-extra). - I suggest that we remove the gtk and form "Theme Settings" from the config menu (not from the distribution). The reason is that these GUI are not in sync with the real fvwm-themes config, that there do not contain all the theme settings and that the Theme Center do the job (in a better way). - I suggest to remove from the menu the menu editor too as it is slow and not of good quality (it is no maintained ...). Hello, In most system fixed is an alias to a _given_ font. In my system (and almost all system) it is: -misc-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed--13-120-75-75-c-60-iso8859-1 I never read at any place that the misc/fonts.alias should be modified (or override) to ensure loading of a similar font but with the charset the user want (e.g., iso8859-15). In fact, I think this should not be done, because for all X locale iso8859-1 is the fallback charset (so when loading a fontset, "fixed" should alawys be ok). So, "fixed" will load an *-iso8859-1 font on most (all?) system. This is not correct with multibyte enabled (in the non multibyte case the only way to deal with != iso8859-1 font is to specify the charset in the font). So I think will should change every apparition of fixed in ft by: -*-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed--13-* The same remark applies for any alias font name (as variable, 6x10, ...etc). Olivier |

Do you think it makes sence to include SetupThemes dialog into the default FVWM menu? Such dialog may query a machine and suggest either install fvwm-themes or upgrade it or uninstall it or make it a default by changing .Xclients. Installing may be done using sources or rpms if the system supports them. The tarball or rpm is fetched using wget or lynx (whatever user has) etc. Another question - how to write such dialog. I think it may be done using a small FvwmScript sample or even a form, that has one or two screens. It will then check the availability of Gtk-Perl on a user's machine, if not found suggest its rpm or another method http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=Gtk-Perl and then passes an execution to a more complex Gtk-Perl script that does the actual installing/uninstalling/small configuring of fvwm-themes. The cygwin file system layer may work-around this DOS problem, I suppose.
