Due to some work yet needed to be done the previous schedule that pointed out for August 1st is no longer valid. The reasons for this delay are good reasons for us, developers, but probably not for the overall community, such has: - m_tadeu MCSD Certification, wich took him almost 5 months to make all the exams, on his own, very hard, but he managed to get one of the highest Certifications for Microsoft solutions. - RCampos VideoGraphics Discreet Certification, wich will take me 4 months to complete. - Last but not least, we are doing this for our own benefit and willing to share it with all of you guys with FuseMail accounts and Linux Systems, but we have an 8 hour day job and 4 hour University at night, and this reduces our time to work a "tiny" bit. The alpha 1 should be released around October, possibly a KDE only version, since MTadeu has the lead on the KDE front, I am responsible for GNOME and hadn't yet catched up with him, we are building the system in order to keep it usable with JAVA and C/C++ languages. Don't expect any fancy UI for any of the alpha releases, our main focus is the base system, beta stage will bring the UI fancy stuff that we all like. Anyway, m_tadeu is going to release its KDevelop/KPart WebServices module some time soon, this gets very handy for the project. I am still posting this for the old Mailing List at SF.NET, but please make sure to switch to the new Mailing List at BerliOS. Best Regards for all, RCampos You can reach us at BerliOS: http://developer.berlios.de/projects/fuseplug/ http://developer.berlios.de/projects/kdev-webserv/ -> KDevelop Plugin for WebServices |

It has came to our knowledge that a better solution for our project = would be to use BerliOS.de instead of SourceForge.net. After consider all of the advantages and possible disavantages we came = to a conclusion, as I will described. Since the FusePlug development and amount of information contained at = SourceForge.net was not very high, and given the considered advantages = of BerliOS, mostly in management and usability, from now on the = development of the FusePlug will be done at BerliOS. A project with the same name was created at BerliOS.de, we now sport 2 = mailing lists, one for Development and one for News (we still advice to = use the News RSS, but it is another option). BerliOS has also the = advantage of sporting SVN (SubVersion) Repository, it is better than CVS = and we should move on to SVN after our first release. For now the following features are enabled: - Public Forums - Feature Requests - Mailing Lists (Development and News) - Task Manager - CVS Repository So, I will not keep you anymore and here are the links: - FusePlug Project http://developer.berlios.de/projects/fuseplug/ - Mailing Lists http://developer.berlios.de/mail/?group_id=3D1813 - Feature Requests http://developer.berlios.de/feature/?group_id=3D1813 - Public Forums http://developer.berlios.de/forum/?group_id=3D1813 - CVS Repository (no commits Yet !) http://developer.berlios.de/cvs/?group_id=3D1813 - News http://developer.berlios.de/news/?group_id=3D1813 - My Profile http://developer.berlios.de/users/rcampos/ (as you may notice, my = username was rscampos at SF.Net and now is rcampos at BerliOS.de) |

Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

We will give all the Documentation we have at the time of the release, =
but we only got the link of the Web Service to use, the remaining =
Documentation is ours, on how the System works ( we will put some =
Documentation at sourceforge once we have the Document Layouts ok and so =
).
MTadeu has designed a KPart for KDevelop that shows the Web Service (any =
Web Service) and makes the code for it, it will be provided also ( =
provide the link to the Sourceforge project, it has not been created yet =
).
We are using vCard and vCalendar specification for our internal system, =
just thought you might want to know.
Best Regards,
Rui Campos
