Hello, in the past, we've written rather long emails, going through quite a lot of points, and had constructive (or less constructive) discussions but decision taking has felt difficult, and was never very clear if at all. I suggest the following to remedy to what is my feeling: 1. send one email with "Proposal: XXX" in the subject. Short email asking for _one_ decision. 2. let the discussion roll for a reasonable period of time (~ one week) and/or discussion participation. 3. present a summary with "Decision: XXX" 4. If nobody has a last complaint, document in Wiki. Decision taken! Prerequisites: A. people absent (or not reacting) accept the decision taken during their absence. B. no irreversible decisions taken in the absence of majority of stakeholders. C. avoid such decisions during holidays. D. decision can be reopened if someone (absent or not) has important reasons to do so. Nevertheless a certain quiet period should be respected (let's be sensible). E. everybody does its best to react quickly and shortly (a simple "OK with me" is good enough to know that you're OK). OK with you? :-) Thanks, Eric |
