Hi Ryan, ad 1: no, I don't plan another 0.8.* release. But often, the bugs are still present in 0.9.0 so it is worth looking for them. ad 2: my policy was: if somebody (different to the one that fixed the bug) acknoledges that the bug is actually fixed it can be closed completely. Pending is an option, if you want to give the author the message: look here, and if you don't react, your ticket is gone forever.
