It would be of value to have a leightweight Gtk/C++
viewer/editor of FreeMind's mind maps, running also on
low-end machines. The editor could only use simple tree
view to cut down implementation costs, or even more, it
would provide for a view similar to FreeMind.

Obviously, this is a duplication of efforts. On the other
hand, such a spin-off project could be basically
independent on FreeMind, enabling more parallel work
than is currently possible. Also, this would satisfy people
who refuse FreeMind on the basis that it is written in
Java, and give it a greater overall acceptability.

It may be that the coding already contained in FreeMind
could be reused to an extent.

    maybe someone could use the base code and adopt it to freemind ui...
