In FreeDOS distribution 1.2 the keyboard utilities KLIB.EXE and KC to create
something like KEYBOARD.SYS are missing.
The FreeDOS html help still mention this two programs.
In FreeDOS distribution 1.1 these 2 utilities are included in base package KEYBX.ZIP
together with FreeDOS keyboard driver KEYB.EXE and keyboard layout collections
KEYB*.SYS.
In version 1.2 base package with similar name KEYB.ZIP now contains only the
keyboard driver KEYB.EXE.
The new base package KEYB_LAY.ZIP contains only keyboard layout collections
KEYB*.SYS. In my mind the 2 missing utilities should be included here or
go in a third package like KEYB_GEN.ZIP for example.
Confirming these programs (KC and KLIB) still missing in 1.3-rc3.
They seems to exist as:
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/dos/keyb/2.0/kc200x.zip
I think this problem is not in Keyboard or in KLIB, rather in INSTALL.
Changing the labels
The bug is still open for FreeDOS 1.3, I wasn't able to find it at ibiblio or in the FreeDOS 1.3 report.
@Jerome Shidel (or to whom it may concern):
Could you please add this kc200x.zip packet to the newer FD releases? And add it at Gitlab, and if possible move it to: http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/dos/keyb/kc200x.zip
so that it easier to find?
Thanks.
Kc200x.zip and kc200s.zip are in an outdated subfolder fdkeyb-2.0 - meanwhile there exists a subfolder fdkeyb-2.11
So it would really be helpful to add them in Gitlab and to create an own folder at Ibiblio. Thx.
On my website you can find where they are needed for:
