#55 original Col : saving reduces benefits and battle win perc.

some years ago i did on amiga 500 and later on pc some testings around save and reload.

the possibility of a higher value treasure reduces massively while reloading an last saving - also battles were quite worse -
found out by the wish to "cheat" with reload savegame in uncomfortable situations with enemys or near treasures - and worthly even if got in the first round (no reload for at least 2 rounds) a some thousand of gold - later i got nothing - or very little presents or worst case lost - and than doesnt matter how often i reload

this is actually not implemented i guess - i mean i could cheat in this way actually the game - should be in the list of classic rule / freecol rule


also i dont know if it was here or in bundesliga manager hattrick (professional) - there it was impossible to reload and actual game - or one of the nearby latest savegames. (sure with the background of uncomfortable long reloading the whole game (then the load of any savegame was possible), which today is not so time cumsumpting) - this part maybe more is a nice beside story than a suggestion

    I found a thread describing some battle calculations and it also mentions a random generator bug in Col1. I remember reading about such a bug long ago, but can't remember if it was there.

    I think we are mostly compatible with the combat calculations, although there are a few points ongoing in PF#65. Pretty unconvinced we want to go as far as full bug-emulation on the RNG issue. ATM FreeCol is "fair", in that it seeds its pseudo-random number generator once at the start of the game, and then just keeps using it (preserving state across save/restore) without any sort of weighting one way or the other.
