Hi Alireza, That's correct, but I'm using the font in a 3D modelling application, the curve should be a path which can be followed by the manufacturing program. I have imported an existing font from the 3D application, which is only curves, but FontForge connects the open ends automatically, thus I can't make changes and re-export the font since it will break the desired end result. I didn’t even know Fontforge had this Expand Stroke built in :) Bob: But maybe I didn’t understand what you want. In my mind, a "font without thickness" as you wrote, will not show up on the screen or in print. Any visible line, even the thinnest one, has a certain width, so it can be represented by a closed path. And because you can define an EM space of many thousands of units, there’s hardly a limit to how thin the font can be. Hope that helps. You can draw your open path and using Expand Stroke__ you can access it from Element in toolbar__ convert it to a close path. Also I think it is better to search about this fact the do TrueType or OpenType support open paths? But don’t despair, you can design your fonts using strokes in Illustrator (for example), then expand the strokes and import the result into Fontforge: https://www.schoolofmotion.com/blog/custom-font-illustrator-fontforge On Thu, 24 Jan 2019 at 10:27, Bob Vandevliet <b.v...@ou...<mailto:b.v...@ou...>> wrote: Good morning, For a project I need a font without thickness, but just a line/curve. I read in the documentation that FontForge automatically draws al line between open endpoints. This is a big problem for my purpose. How can I configure FontForge to NOT automatically close open contours?
