Not sure if this is a developer question or a user question, so I'll just throw it against the wall ... I have a 200 dpi display and want to make some bitmapped strikes. The easy way to do this would be to use the 100 dpi settings, make the glyphs twice-size, name them as if they were 100 dpi, and just remember that everything is a lie. This is an ugly hack but it should be easy and work. The other way would be to dig into the fontforge source, add another choice to the 75 dpi and 100 dpi selections, and do it correctly. If the T221 were going to stay rare and unusual, Door Number one would be the obvious choice. But Apple has been preparing the world to open their wallets for "retina displays" and I understand there are finally a lot of other high-res monitors in the pipeline. There's nothing quite as enjoyable as being milked for the 1%, moooo ... but I digress. High-resolution panels are finally in the pipeline. 100dpi bitmap fonts are sub-optimal :D Is there any interest in adding a double-dense selection to the bitmap-creating area of fontforge ? |
