You will still have to change the point type in the Point menu if that's what you need to do. Using the Point Info dialog you can check the "Default" box to extend a single control handle from a node. I'm not sure exactly how this default setting is determined, but it seems to put the curvature in balance with those of adjacent nodes. Fontographer had an "Auto-Curvature" menu item, which effectively did this "Default" for both control points for all selected nodes, and the state persists when moving the nodes, provided the control points remain untouched. It's a less precise tool, but a big time saver in many circumstances and one FontForge lacks so far. (Though some of this functionality, i.e: dynamic curve adjustment, is mimicked when using FF's Spiro drawing mode, but in a very different way.) -- -- Jason Pagura zimbach at gmail dot com |
