New version: 1.0, "gotcha"

You didn't really think I'd release on April Fools' Day, did you?

Anyways, a new version with fewer bugs is on its way up as I type. Thanks for all the users who submitted bug reports and feature requests. I'll put up a semi-comprehensive list once it finishes uploading.

Minor bugs fixed

Some minor glitches in the install script have been fixed. Still to come are netmask/broadcast fixes for subnets other than the defaults and sinlge-adapter support, but it doesn't give any errors now. Also fixed the crongen program: it was always telling clients to save progress 50 minutes after the hour. Now it properly randomizes. The install script now works completely in that you get a full system when it's done.

Initial release

The 0.6 release previously linked on [H]ardforums is out; it will be uploaded later today. It features a small download size at only 56 MB, an install script to do all the heavy lifting, and capability to allow clients to boot over a LAN. The client image includes libc, an ssh server (dropbear), and fully-featured busybox in 4MB of data transfer. A script is provided to retrieve Folding@Home from the Stanford site.... read more
