The potential solution has been committed to CVS. It will be released in 0.3 (which is 'imminent' and also 'emminent' ;) Please keep up the great effort testing the Release Candidate. Dev notes: For some reason, even though the item was flagged to "unread" it wasn't then being picked up as unread. I think this was due to ADODB using "0" instead of "NULL" when it set the flag in the MySQL db. Therefore, items flagged as 'unread' will use 0 (thought still via the FOF_UNREAD_FLAG) to address this issue. Can you be a little more explicit on what actions you took to get to where? For example: 1) Clicked "Show new items" 2) Clicked on a feed checkbox 3) Clicked "marked flagged items as read" 4) hit the back button on the web browser? 5) click the feed checkbox 6) clicked the "mark flagged items as unread" 7) clicked the "Panel" button 8) Feed line showed no new items Is this what happened, or something different? I marked an item as read in a feed that I had meant to leave alone. So I went into the feed showing all the articles and clicked on the checkbox for the article then tried Mark as Unread. Going back to the Panel mode did not show the article. |

SourceForge had a major failure for about 5 days, and CVS was unavailable. This was resolved yesterday (or 2 days ago) for developers, but they haven't yet turned on "syncing" to the public version of CVS. Ths probably is true for our daily bundles as well. We'll look into it. In the meantime, I'm attaching a zip file (won't be attached for the fofredux-devel list, it doesn't allow attachments) of some updated files for you to drop into your folder and try out. I think the problem was that you got an intermediate checkin on some fixes I did to properly display the Category name when a feed is added. Another feature addition was the loading of the category from an OPML file. Please let me know if this addresses your problem. Miles, can you perhaps check the top of your init.php file and let me know the version number? The latest dev version is 1.59 and RC 0.3 is 1.57. That will help us find the actual line and possible error. Andrew On 4/5/06, Miles Beck <mil...@gm...> wrote: > Recently I've noticed when I try and add a feed it fails the first > time I try it. for me the issue was different based on the type of feed. There is definitely a bug in the parse_w3cdtf () of magpierss/rss_utils.inc or associated. I just realized that I have not been reading a bunch of items from my feeds. For whatever reason, the publish_time is getting set to: 0000-00-00 00:00:00 which then makes the feed items not show up in the view. You can see this in the HEAD demo: http://code.highearthorbit.com/fofredux/fofredux_head/view.php?feed=3D42 where no feed items are visible from after March 8. If you view "old to new" you get feed items that were at least cached up until March 17. But you can clearly see on the RSS feed that their have been items since then: http://www.hackaday.com/rss.xml The actual error is: Warning: gmmktime() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in /home/.parable/highearth/code.highearthorbit.com/public/fofredux/fofredux_h= ead/magpierss/rss_utils.inc on line 35 Which is just a warning, but then the date/time is getting set to the 0000 value from above and then not getting picked up in the fof_get_items query. Also, for anyone interested, HEAD also has an updated search functionality which searches within just the current view and also has search term highlighting. Suggestion: use subversion starting after Release-0_3 is tagged and tarball= ed. Other than that, I think it's a grand idea. But then again, I already run CVS & Subversion. The bigger difficulty will be for devs who haven't used Subversion before, though not that it's radically different from CVS. At least for 80% of the features most devs use. Hi Team, I tested converting the code repository from CVS to Subversion. The conversion worked well. I'd like to move forward with permanently switching to Subversion. This is a solicitation for comments on this. Does anybody think it's a horrible idea? --=20 Kevin |

I clicked on "View New Items" with the option set to show 10 items per page. I have 17 new items currently. It showed 10 items on the first page and then 7 on the next one. Then I tried it with 5 items per page with 24 new items and it showed 5 items per page until it got to the last page. Then it showed the last four items. -Miles |
