yep, there is a feature request on SF (made by a rather ornery user, if I may say so myself), which some good regexp suggestions. Definitely something that would be nice to add and probably fairly simple to add. another idea would be, and i think it's on the todo list anyway, to incorporate some sort of adfiltering. i use squid with adzapper at home here, and it has a nice regexp filtering for all http requests, but when i view the feeds from elsewhere, i get all the ads. wonder how difficult it would be to snap all that stuff in...or develop our own. There are 2 id's pointing to the same blog entry. the rdf:about attribute has the boingboing link, perhaps we should favor using that for atom feeds. We use link or guid tags for uniqueness generally. If they are different, then fofr treats them as different items. I see this sometimes on feeds from slashdot and the register. -Kevin |

I just noticed a good example of a duplicate item being added to a feed. I have had one article appear three times just a few minutes ago in one feed. One publish time was different and two were identical. The three urls to the articles are as follows: http://feeds.feedburner.com/boingboing/iBag?m=3D1286 http://www.boingboing.net/2006/05/10/npr_xeni_tech_net_ne.html http://feeds.feedburner.com/boingboing/iBag?m=3D1285 Now obviously the urls are different so this is probably why the article appeared three times. Did feedburner mess something up so this was posted twice by them and then once boingboing? I'm just trying to get some details here as I have noticed duplicate items still showing up for me. I'm going to keep going and once I've got everything there I think I'll leave you guys to optimise it more. I'll keep the colours as seperate as I can. As for image replacement, honestly I don't see the reasoning behind this. Fair enough it's nice to keep the images and the structure completely seperate but I feel all these methods are far too complicated for essentially a pretty simple task. It's not breaking any validation codes etc. In any case once again when I've got all the structure in place (which just looking at everything shouldn't be too difficult to sort out, then I'm sure you guys will find ways to make it actually look pretty, from a coding pov, because that is definitely not something I'm very good at :). I have no problem in trying to put in partial support as well... I
will look at that as well on a bit updated view-integration as I have
some time left over today... :)
I think we should do something like:

Each parameter passed to the partial will be a local variable in that
partial view...

yeah, as mentioned, this bug is because no settings are saved, and the recordset comes back empty. it wasn't occurring in previous versions, since it was reading values from the default.config file, and overwriting the changed ones from the DB. in any case, this bug is somewhat proof that we'll have our hands full.
