There is a project to support ip-cameras for JMF, http://jipcam.sourceforge.net/
Looks like they only have support for a couple of cameras.
But it may make sense to start supporting other cameras using jipcam, and then simply make sure that FMJ is compatible with jipcam. I haven't looked at it closely enough to know the best route, but if jipcam is a good project, and is actively developed (it appears that it is), there is no sense in duplicating effort.
