This week we are finalizing any packaging issues for the 0.7.7 release. Pretty much any bugs or feature issues are now sidelined until after 0.7.7 is finalized and released. I appreciate everyone's efforts to follow our release schedule and stamp out the show stopping bugs. Here is my first stab at a final release of 0.7.7. Hopefully as many people as possible can download both the source and the prebuilt windows binaries, test them on relatively pristine systems, and let me know if any problems or issues show up so we can have all the packaging problems resolved by the end of the week for an official release. Hopefully someone out there (Gene B?) will volunteer to wrap everything together in a self installer for windows people. If other's want to generate .deb's or .rpm's, or Mac sits or whatever, now is a pretty good time to start dusting off your scripts. I don't anticipate much changing between now and the official/final release. The goal here is for people trying out FlightGear for the first time to have the best chance possible at getting something running. These are the sorts of problems (i.e. a startup segfault on everyone's system but my own, or a compile error, etc.) that I am interested in fixing this week. Everything else will have to wait for 0.7.8. The more people that can try these out, the better chance we have at putting out a stable release, which is much of what we will be judged on.
