I am aware of that.  Currently, 0.7.7 only requires 1.4 for a single function
call in a standalone and optional binary.  I am therefore requesting that
FGFS compile against 1.2 for the released 0.7.7 version (but not for CVS).

Why?  Because it'll be several months before the distros package 1.4 and
forcing people to rebuild PLIB in addition to everything else we request
will reduce adoption rates of the newer version.  Bad for us.
