Jon,

I'm committed to my time table, and to be honest, this stuff is messy
enough that it's not something I want to touch before this release is
out the door.  We can survive fine with LaRCsim as the default for one
more iteration I think.

But it's something we should take a careful look at as soon as 0.7.7
is finalized.
