The forums are still online, but over the last many days, it's been inordinately and usably slow.

I think we need some better DOS protection?

yes, this is what a DDOS looks like much of the time... most likely caused by
all the AI agents running around sucking up everything on the web...

when they hit my small site, my traffic increased at least 5x its normal flow...
my firewall has been enjoying itself and still gets a lot to eat even though i
shut down my web server temporarily... huge swaths of IPs spewing forth with
these AI agents have been blocked... mostly from Asian locations but also some
from Europe and South America...

IME, rate limiting and IP blocking is the order of the day... if one can also
run an IDS and let it add offending addresses to the firewall block list, that's
also a huge plus...
