Right, and the real ATIS does loop forever, if the COM frequency is tuned. If auto-tuning is being done centrally and is not wanted, we need to add a /sim/startup/auto-tune-com2=true | false … to control this behaviour explicitly, and not add hacky workarounds to aircraft. BTW this also why we judged Flite-HTS to be acceptable for use in FG - it’s license compatible and the sound quality is comparable to many automated systems used in aviation. There is no offline (as opposed to cloud based), platform-independent text-to-speech solution comparable to the proprietary ones available in Windows and macOS, to the best of my knowledge. James |
