If flightgear implements some sort of run once that asks that, no objections.

But this default blaring voice should be off by default

It's essentially a very very poor screen reader and I challenge to find a single other piece if software that puts such a thing on by default.

However my objection is mostly with the read commands for ATC and ATIS. Because they don't stop. They keep blaring.

No, it must be on, cause a blind being will not be able to blindly click
through the menues and find the right button.
Else it's not helping with out of the box accessibility.

I agree tho that the current message doesn't help them that much
cause they don't even see where that help menu is.

Maybe, something like this could already be integraded into
the launcher as this would probably be the first thing they
interact. When one starts flightgear for the first time,
give an audible and visual dialog, asking if you need
this kind of accessibility aid. If user selects "no"
remain silent. If the user selects "yes", have some
screen reader accessibility. Idk if we already have that
cause of Qt or if that would need additional work to
make the launcher screen reader friendly/possible
for screen reader at all.
