Is there a menu option I did not find yet > or a command line parameter? There are two ways that I know of. One is to hide the panel (use 'P' -- that's Shift+P). The FPS will show in the bottom right corner. There is also an alternative HUD that has the FPS. IIRC, you use 'i' and 'I' to switch HUDs. > Also I would be happy to find a detailed guide on 'how to fly' since I > have absolutely no practice on flight simulator programs nor on real planes > (my last experiences was about 15 years ago, they called it 'MS Flight > Simulator' but I am sure MS had bought it from someone else). Another good question that isn't directly answered in the FAQ... Learning to fly FlightGear is covered in the Installation and Getting Started[2] guide. Instrument and navigation flying[3] in the context of flight sims is covered in the FAQ.
