This reminded of the discussion we had whether or not CAVOK should have clear skies, and Thorsten convinced me that this is statistically wrong,so I see Alan's idea as a good alternative. Would it be possible to have a scenario where we have clear skies (or at least far less clouds than in fair weather),provided that the issue with menu filling up is resolved, and more scenarios can be added? Clear weather doesn't have to apply to entire scenario, but for only one part . So, maybe add a little variability. By variability I mean that clear weather for the Balkans in reality ( and even down to Rhodes) can stretch from a few dozen kilometers to a few hundred (I actually measured with Google Earth that it can stretch up to 500 km or so). . Of course in reality this can be less or even more depending on the region. This is just an example. Someone could say that I should just set up a METAR string with a clear sky,but this is not realistic and is not a scenario (pressure, temperature and visibility, height of haze layer etc. don't change). Your opinions on this would be appreciated.
