Okay, sorry for all this. Using the Aircraft Center opens the "launcher" - closing the launcher - hangs FG. I can't close the window, the window can be minimized and opened, resized. etc. Minimizing the window and opening it gives a blank black window. No menu works. Esc does not work no keyboard access The only way to stop is to use the task manager and kill the FG process. If I don't use --launcher and then restart FG. I can download aircraft with the File | Aircraft Center menu item. Works fine that way. Ron ________________________________ From: Ron H <ro...@ho...> Sent: May 16, 2017 7:32 PM To: FlightGear developers discussions Subject: [Flightgear-devel] Local file error - download aircraft - Windows Hello, I now get the following error when I try to download and aircraft to my system. "An error occurred installing the following aircraft XYZ: A local file-system error occurred" Using the current next and the windows-nightly. I do not get the error on my copy of 2017.1.1. I can stop the error from happening if I run FG as administrator. ie. right click on shortcut and run as admin. I do see the folder as the download happens with the _extract_<guid> where <guid> is a guid value not "guid". Now the trouble is that the aircraft in the launcher has a status to update - not install. I have to close and restart FG for the aircraft to go back to install. Ron |
