I guess it's pretty much a no-brainer that small custom patches of scenery are always going to look better than solutions which are aimed to scale all over the planet in terms of storage needs, manpower required and automatic distribution to ~250.000 users. See also Torsten's recent concern about requiring 2.600 GB of disk space even with the current solution scaled to the whole planet. Making something work in one place for you is easy. Making it work everywhere automatically for everyone no matter the system specs is quite a lot more involved. > Without a heavy loss of performance my computer. Since I am not aware of any merge requests with regard to driving car shaders, I'm going to assume that whoever created them is not interested or not ready yet to ship them - so maybe you should talk to that person. When we have uv-mapped roads in the scenery, I plan on writing some of my own, but I think that'll be some time off. * Thorsten |
