I have edited the files for the various joysticks quite a lot and I can imagine that there are many users who want to assign a common function to a specific button/axis (e.g. move flaps with lever instead of button, rearrange bindings of the throttle quadrant for a multi-engine aircraft, assign light switches to joystick buttons, etc. etc...) > > But that's just my 2 cents... Yes agreed, there’s just a lack of consensus on what a better, user facing location might be. $HOME/Documents/FlightGear is what we’re trying on Windows, with some success and also some complaints. This is very easy to change at a code level, but confusing for users (and documentation) if we make several changes. We would also need to agree what files might live there - the log files certainly, I would be quite happy with joystick configurations also. Kind regards, James |
