Robin mostly relies on upstream sources, which is as it should be. There is a nontrivial turnover in the data, so you definitely don't want a static dataset. I don't think we have a "bug" in "the" data but rather in the /process/ that collects data. ATIS/AWOS/HIWAS/TWEB/etc. frequencies *are* available from authoritative sources; the data just has to get integrated. There are about ten different ways the process could go off the rails. Whatever it is, it's fixable; it's just work. IMHO it's not worth speculating about details until we hear from Robin. |
