I successfully built and runned metacity with latest XQuartz on 10.10
I only added a fix to remove the -Werror. Similar error as
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=259179
wm-tester throw an error and exited.
The first time I ran it, it was complaining about libgtop2_server not found.
Installing libgtop2.0.7 solved the issue. Shall we add it as a dependency ?
If libgtop2.0.7 is needed at runtime, it needs to be added to the field RuntimeDepends.
Can the --disable-compositor and --disable-render flags be removed? Those flags are over 6 years old and the features might now play nice with current Xquartz.
RuntimeDepends added
Removing --disable-compositor and --disable-render make metacity unworkable:
ウィンドウ・マネージャの警告: 保存されたセッションファイル /Users/peter/.config/metacity/sessions/10f14bd1e0f08eecc3142288637029283200000182820006.ms の読み込みに失敗しました: '/Users/peter/.config/metacity/sessions/10f14bd1e0f08eecc3142288637029283200000182820006.ms' を開けません: No such file or directory
ウィンドウ・マネージャの警告: ディスプレイ ":0" 上のスクリーン 0 はすでにウィンドウマネージャを持っています; 現在のウィンドウマネージャを上書きするために--replace オプションの使用を試してください。
Can only run on Darwin 14.0.0 x86_64
glibtop: read 8 bytes: Resource temporarily unavailable
Using --replace as argument didn't work for me.
It looks like an issue with libgtop. No plan to upgrade libgtop, just using gnome as a launcher for games :-)
