MPICH2 is a high-performance and widely portable implementation of the Message Passing Interface (MPI) standard (both MPI-1 and MPI-2).
It should go to the devel section.
package --build-as-nobody, .info and .deb files validated.
Tested on i386-10.5, 10.4 and ppc still to be tested.

This package's info file should be updated to conflict with lammpi and openmpi.

I assumed to use this package, but it turned out that I won't. Therefore, I retreat and the submission can be closed. Sorry, for the fuss, but I think it is better to be realistic now than to have another halfheartedly supported package.

Let's leave this open, in case somebody else wants to have this in Fink. They can start a new tracker item and then we'll close this one out.
Sorry that this was never added...
But the current state now is this: This .info was lasted updated over 5 years ago. And mpich2 went from 1.0.6p1 (in the .info file) to 3.0.4. And this .info contains nothing non-standard, so I think somebody who wants to have an mpich package is better off starting from scratch (it's unlikely they are going to find this tracker item, too).
Closing.
