Greetings- Package manager version: 0.9.12 Distribution version: 0.4.0.cvs Dec 2001 Developer's tools Ran fink selfupdate-cvs; all other installed packages were successfully updated prior to the latest attempt to update ethereal. Previous version (current binary) installed: Following is the output of ethereal -v (running under Sawfish/Gnome) --------- ** WARNING **: The plugin cosnaming.so has no version symbol ** WARNING **: The plugin gryphon.so has no version symbol ** WARNING **: The plugin mgcp.so has no version symbol ethereal 0.8.3, with GTK+ 1.2.10, with GLib 1.2.10, with libpcap 0.6, with libz 1.1.4, without UCD SNMP --------- The 0.8.3 version appears to work. I didn't see anything obvious in the code prior to the final output (i.e., warnings but no "errors"). Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks- Stan ---------- (final output of install attempt(s)) extracting global C symbols from `epan/dfilter/libdfilter.a' (cd .libs && cc -c -fno-builtin -fno-rtti -fno-exceptions "etherealS.c") /sw/src/ethereal-0.9.4-2/ethereal-0.9.4/.libs etherealS.c:1972: syntax error, found `@' etherealS.c:1972: illegal external declaration, missing `;' after `,' etherealS.c:1973: illegal external declaration, missing `;' after `*' . <snip> . etherealS.c:3915: illegal external declaration, missing `;' after `*' etherealS.c:3916: illegal external declaration, missing `;' after `*' cpp-precomp: warning: errors during smart preprocessing, retrying in basic mode etherealS.c:1972: parse error before `@' make[2]: *** [ethereal] Error 1 make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2 ### make failed, exit code 2 Failed: compiling ethereal-0.9.4-2 failed |
