Fink selfupdate uses the rsync command for the rsync method and the cvs command for the cvs method. There is nothing Fink-specific about these commands. If you want to see whether rsync is getting through, you can run it by hand, for example: rsync rsync://ber.de.eu.finkmirrors.net/finkinfo/ If the connection works, this will list the contents of the top directory of that server. From what I can tell here, the rsync command uses the port 873 (= "rsync"), and the cvs command uses, for anonymous checkout by the pserver protocol, the port 2401 (= "cvspserver"). The list of the association of protocols with ports is stored in /etc/services. -- Martin |
