It seems, however, that it works basically fine without x11 (by which I mean that I renamed /usr/X11, /usr/X11R6 and /etc/X11 after the installation, and ran gnuplot). Almost all demo scripts in /sw/share/doc/gnuplot/demo seem to work. One obvious exception was fillcrvs.dem. # This filledcurves style sounds relatively new.
