In fact, I have no problems running fink software from a Terminal window, and XDarwin starts just fine from there. I assumed that there is something lacking in the environment that I get from the LoginWindow. I can run start -- -quartz from a terminal and it runs just fine, it just won't run if I double click on XDarwin, or as a Login item if my shell is /sw/bin/bash, rather than /bin/tcsh or /bin/zsh. My XDarwin is a binary install, not fink. Zac |
