Doesn't seem to be possible. Very inconvenient using a cabinet. Would it be possible to add this so I can exit the emulator with the press of a button. (Using the Windows version)

You can easily use JoyToKey program to map hotkeys to work with the joypad.

not a bug, and this isn't planned for the future either. tools like joytokey and jkeys exist for a reason

People have been asking this for ages now. I don't know why it doesn't get finally added.
Every other modern emulator has that ability, I don't know why is it so hard to implement here.
