No

Since this seem to be made with the intensions of using
it on fluxbox, it would be nice if we can have a
"special" menu object that we can add to the panel that
pops up the same menu structure as what would appear by
right clicking on the openbox desktop.

As an added bonus, it would also be great to have a
"menu" that display the same contents as the kde,
gnome, xfce, etc. menus in the same way.

    This functionality is my current spare-time project, written in Ruby:

    http://jrandomhacker.info/Fbpanel_menu_importing

    Right now it is not particularly functional, but the idea seems simple enough.

    Anatoly, have you gained any interest in implementing a freedesktop-compliant menu?

    I could offer a donation bounty on this functionality, because it is quite important to me.

    freedesktop compliant menu is there since 4.9. just add following lines to config and start using it
    Plugin {
    type = menu
    expand = false
    padding = 0
    config {
    icon = star
    systemmenu {
    }
    separator {
    }
    item {
    icon = gnome-settings
    name = configure
    command = configure
    }
    }
    }

    Haha, oh the irony. Ok, so I did a bit of spare-time programming just for the experience. =)

    Since freedesktop was done, my particular problem has now been solved. Is this todo item still valid?
