i'm having a bit of a panic here, i just mounted up a
partition and a number of directories have turned into
normal files. is there a way to manually make them back
into directories somehow?
Are the directories are symbolic links ? if so, Ext2Fsd will treat them as files, it does
not support symlinks.
You'd better use debugfs or other ext2/ext3 editing tools to do the recovery. Change the
type of the inodes to directory, then check the meta data is correct or not.

By the way it's a data drive, I would just like the files
back. could they all be dumped to a lost+found or something?
