Ext2fsd Volume Manager won't start on Windows 10
A Linux ext2/ext3 file system driver for Windows

Like the title says, I cannot get the volume manager window to appear on my system. The only thing it does is ask for administrator permissions. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling with "Run as administrator", but that doesn't fix the problem either.
You can close this. The newest release solved this issue.
No. It didn't. Ext2FSD .68 ran fine for a few weeks/months. Now, it doesn't open a visible window, I can launch 4 instances of it, still seeing nothing. Uninstalled, reinstalled. Still doesn't open any visible window. Still see a Ext2 Volume Manger for Windows process in Task Manager, but nothing I can interact with. This is a huge problem! Windows 10.
I'm facing a very similar problem on Windows 10 64-bit, but with Ext2fsd 0.68.
I right-click on Ext2fsd shortcut and choose "Run as administrator", but after I accept the window with administrator permissions, ext2fsd window doesn't show up. In the Task Manager I can see that a new ext2fsd process showed up, though. (Additionally the service management ext2fsd process was running in the background since the system boot).
Same issue here on my desktop. Works fine on my laptop though, also running Windows 10 x64.
Exactly same issue for me. Should be related to a Windows update : I have 0.66 installed on my computer for long time... After long time without using ext2fsd, i try to start it again and... Not working! Trying an update (remove/reinstall)) to 0.68 and same problem. Unfortunatelty, i could not say how long is "long time" (somes months...).
I am also having the same problem in both 0.68 and 0.69. It worked in Windows 7 before I updated and then once in Windows 10. Now it won't open at all, even after uninstalling, reinstalling and formatting my computer.
It is the same as elpresidente666 mentioned. Will it work?
Yeah, it's exactly as he describes, but it doesn't open.
I have the same issue, with the new 0.69.1032-07.15
Same issue for me too - WIn 10 x64.
Seems this is my issue too but under WIN 7 x64
Same issue. .68, Windows 10. Strangely, this worked for a few weeks/months just fine, then one day stopped opening. Uninstall/reinstall, still won't open a visible window interface. I see Ext2 Volume Manager for Windows process in Task Manager, but nothing with a UI or window I can alt-tab to or interact with in any way. Please fix this!
I have exactly the same issue with the latest release, .68, on Windows 10. The disk partions are regular DOS type. I have alaso tried uninstall and reinstall, and run as administrator, etc. Nothings can bring out the UI.
I have no problem on another windows 10 machine with a UPFI/GPT partition. Not sure whether that makes any difference.

I have the same problem, but my system is Windows 7 x64. The two last versions, 0.68 and 0.69 not work for me.
Also having the same issue here. It was working for several months on windows 10, I havent used it for a few weeks, tried today and the Gui won't show. I am running version .68. every time I start the program a new instacne shows in tskmgr, but no gui. If I try to reinstall the installer freezes and crashes. Any help would be appreciated.
Still not working. Windows 7 64-bit.
What a pain !!! me tooo in Win 10 x64
what should we doo now ????
Sáme problem here under Win7 64 bits. Afer working properly, suddenly it does not open the window, but the process is created. If I launch it again, two or three processes are created, but no window to choose letter for my external ext3 drives.
In the other PC, I had the problem with the signed certificate (due).
Exactly same issue in Windows 7 64bit. Ext2fsd 0.69 release. Driver is running, so Volume Mgr but no Window opened. Maybe its better thant corrupting my ext4 Ubuntu 16.94 partitions, like some bugs reports mention, but still missing at least read-only support. See alos Post #164.
I filed also a new ticket on Windows 7 group.
Hi all,
I had this same problem in both Windows 7 & 10, I couldn't figure out the problem until I remembered that I had upgraded to the latest version, from what it turns out was a really old version (hence the upgrade). I'd uninstalled and installed at least 3 previous versions with no joy.
So just to see if it worked, I uninstalled 0.69, let it restart the PC, ran ccleaner, installed my old (original) version, restarted once more.
So I plugged in my EXT3 usb stick and waited with baited breath..... it worked!! I've done this on both my Win 7 & 10 machines and it now works great.
I used version 0.53 (I told you it was an old version :-) )
I hope this helps you.
.53 also worked for me on windows 10.
I use V0.69 in Windows 10 and have the same problem as everyone else here. Volume Manager GUI doesn't show up after I accept the Windows Account Control prompt, not even when I run it as Administrator.
Edit: Volume Manager ran yesterday. Earlier today I updated Windows 10 and since restarting the PC I haven't been able to run Volume Manager. Maybe this have something to do with WIndows refusing to run non-signed drivers?

i cannot get Ext2fsd to display the Volume Manager GUI on WIN10 I have version 0.69. Task manager shows 2 entries for Ext2fsd Service Management (32bit) (ext2srv.exe)and Ext2fsd Volume Manager for Windows (32 bit) (ext2mgr.exe)Task Manager shows both under Back Background processes but NOTHING under Apps where I expect to see Volume Manager GUI(ext2mgr.exe) . It works fine on my other laptop running Windows 8.. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled Ext2fsd , tried running as Administrator with no help
Under services the service name shows Ext2 Management Service Ext2 Management Module status is running Startup Type is Automatic and :Local System. Don't know what else I can provide for troubleshooting.
