What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Chose one of my Evernote notebooks that appeared in the dropdown
2. Clicked "Start Import"
3. Application stuck on "Parsing notes from Evernote" for 3 hours
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It does create a new notebook in OneNote 2013 but it stays empty.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0.2.141 Windows 8.1 OneNote Professional 2013
Please provide any additional information below.
I tried with different evernote notebooks with the same result. My whole evernote account has 2681 notes (would that be the issue?) but I was trying notebooks with only 3 notes in them.

The step "Parsing notes from Evernote" opens the xml file that got exported from Evernote, containing all the note data. Then that xml file is parsed for "note" tags.
Check the xml file: you can find it in %temp%\notebookname.xml - if it's really big then of course this step takes a while. But it shouldn't take hours.

There is no .xml at all in the temp folder. I let it run overnight 8
hours and it still says parsing, no .xml in the %temp%\
Any other suggestions?

I also tried the software on a different pc (Windows 7) that is running the free version of OneNote2013 with a new evernote account that only had 3 test notes in it. It's also stuck on parsing and there is not xml in the temp folder. am I doing something wrong? would love to get these notes transferred over! thanks!

I am also having this issue.
Windows 7 (64bit), Onenote 2013, Evernote 5.2.1.3108 (271108) Public.
Evernote2Onenote.exe runs, I select a notebook (note from a stack) containing 21 note and click Start Import.
It then starts with "Extracting notes from Evernote" and then moves to "Parsing notes from Evernote", where it just waits.
OneNote folders are made in <user>\Documents\OneNote Notebooks, containing the file "Open Notebook.onetoc2" which is empty.
%temp% has the following appear while trying this:
A folder: OneNoteRuntimeCache containing what looks to be a correct file/directory structure (created by onenote).
A .tmp.cvr file (0kb - created by onenote)
A .tmp file with a random name that does seem to contain the notes from evernote (header for this file is:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE en-export SYSTEM "http://xml.evernote.com/pub/evernote-export2.dtd">
)
I'm guessing that last file is the expected xml file.

Can you try with a notebook that isn't part of a stack but separate?

Today everything is magically working! I'm in the process of importing all
my notebooks. The only thing I did different was try to run the software at
my work instead of at home. Not sure how that made a difference, but now
the software is working really well! Even with the notebooks in a stack.
Thanks!

I am also having this issue. I thought perhaps it was related to trying to run this in Parallels on my mac. I tried running this from a pc at the office and I am still never making it past the "Parsing notes from Evernote". An empty tab is created in my Onenote. I have tried several different notebooks in my account with no different result. Is it better to have evernote and onenote running or not running?

Does anyone have a Solution for this....I Tired going down a Version to the 1.05, and gets further, but still no import into the OneNote application.
Has anyone had success with this? If so can you confirm the OS, Version Used and Steps?

Same symptom here - it will get stuck on Parsing notes, a blank notebook is created in OneNote but no detail is added. Also pressing Cancel doesn't do anything, you have to exit the program.
Fairly new install of Win 8.1 with the following versions:
Evernote2Onenote.exe 1.0.6.152
Evernote 5.3.1.3363
OneNote 2013 15.0.4599.1000

Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
Office 2013, OneNote 2013 15.0.4599.1000
Evernote 5.4.0.3698
Evernote2Onenote 1.0.6.152
I've tried with Evernote and OneNote running, both closed, etc.
However, I did find that version 1.0.4 works for me.

Same here.
Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit
Onenote 2013
Evernote 5.4.0.3698
The one notebook I'm trying to import has 12 items in it. It stalls at "Parsing notes from Evernote". I may try something really simple, like reboot...

if 1.0.4 works for you, then try renaming the Evernote notebooks so that the name only consists of ASCII chars.

I'm sorry, but I have no idea why it's stuck for you guys.
If one of you could maybe get the sourcecode and compile and debug it that might help.
Also, if you have process explorer (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx) you can check whether ENScript.exe is still running while it's stuck. If it is, check the command line that was passed to it (in process explorer, right-click on the process, select "Properties...", then in the property dialog select the "Image" tab - the command line is shown there).
Once you have that command line, open a console (Win+R, then enter "cmd.exe" and hit enter) and there enter that command line. Maybe you get an output there which might help.

Neither of Evernote2Onenote versions worked for me on Windows 8.1 Pro. However, when I tried Evernote2Onenote v.1.0.5 on Windows 7 I was able to successfully transfer my notebooks.
Thanks

I am also seeing this issue. I ran process explorer and confirmed that enscript.exe isn't running (isn't triggered?).
I'm on Win 7 64bit (seems to be a 64 bit issue).
OneNote 2013 and most recent version of Evernote.

Confirmed that 1.0.5 worked fine for me too.
Wished it would take sub notebooks and convert them to tabs, but this is a great start!

I am stuck at the same parsing error as well.
No ENScript.exe in the process explorer and no note in one note. No notebook.xml in %temp% directory. I get an empty Notebook in OneNote with the same name as the name of the notebook being imported from Evernote but no notes in it.
My evernote setup contains about 20 notebooks with 5-10 notes each.
Windows 7 SP 1
Evernote2Onenote version 1.0.6, 1.0.5 and 1.0.4.
Onenote 2013 (comes with office 2013)
Evernote 5.0.3
Any suggestions!?
