    Hi,

I want to use Viacam, but I don't want the mouse to move all the time when
I'm moving my head, because I mostly use the keyboard. So I want a keyboard
shortcut that enables/disables Viacam. Is that possible?

    (I'm on Windows 7.)

And actually another question while I'm at it: What would be the best
webcam to buy for using with Viacam?

    Thanks for your help,
    Ram Rachum.

Hi guys, does anyone have an answer to my question?

    Hi Ram

The shortcut feature is available on linux but not on windows, and the port is definitely in the backlog. Other users also requested this feature and even provided some workarounds [1]

Regarding the webcameras, check this [2]
    [2] https://sourceforge.net/p/eviacam/discussion/913147/

Finally, could you please tell us how do plan to use eviacam.

    Regards, C.

I've actually tried to use eviacam as a mouse, but it's not very comfortable. I really want it to be a viable solution, but it isn't so much. I've been looking for an alternative to a mouse for years, so I have very high motivation to find one.

Every time I try to click something with viacam, it's a lot of effort. I'm not sure why. But here are a couple of things that can be improved, besides a hotkey for enable/disable:

    1. Sometimes the mouse is too far to one side of my workspace. (I have 3 screens.) So if I want to move it left I'm already at the edge of my motion range looking left and it's still not at the left of the screen. So maybe the hotkey should also reset the calibration, like lifting the mouse when you reach the end of the mousepad.
    2. If it helps precision, I wouldn't mind connecting 2 or 3 webcams instead of one, to give viacam more data. Maybe an additional camera from the side instead of the front will give you more data points?

I think it's allways better to have individual keys for individual actions. Switching recognition on and off should not be the same key as a recallibration function.

To bring the mouse cursor to a halt easier I'd recommend to shut down automatic facial recognition. Set a bigger area for a standstill and use the helpers in the program. It will also become way easier to not make any movement with the mouse cursor if you use headrest

Your idea to make use of a second webcam is interesting. I think there'd be the need for some kind of switching situation that takes movement over to a second or even a third webcam

I myself have two 24 inch screens and very sensitive setting so I can reach both screens with small movements. Three screens would become a problem.

If you are able to click a normal hardware mouse I'd even recommend to use these for clicking and Enable Viacam for movement only. It's way easier that way.
