I've created a debug version to see whether it could provide more informative reports before it crashes.
1.- Download this file [1] to your computer
2.- Unzip it
3.- Run bin\eviacam.exe
It might complain about face detection not working or something about a sizer.cpp. Just accept these errors and go on ('Ok' in the first dialog, 'No' in the 2nd). Provide an screenshot of the error message (if any) when it crashes.
BTY: you could also try using an external webcamera to confirm the crash is related with the camera.
1) Run eviacam in debug mode and provide a screenshot when the program crashes. To run eviacam in debug mode press Win + R and then (for 64bit):
"c:\Program Files (x86)\Enable Viacam\bin\eviacam.exe" -d
Unfortuantely the download of the dev version did not work. Message saying "YOu cannot access this item because it is in violation of our Terms of Service"
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Well, finally I've managed to have (limited) access to a MS Surface and I have been able to reproduce the crash :-) Attached is a new velopment vesion in which, hopefully, the crash is fixed. Currently I don't have access to a Surface to test it by myself.
EDIT: if you download the attachment using Chrome it complains that the file might be dangerous. If you trust us, just click "Keep" and run the installer.
EDIT 2: this versions seems to work fine with a Surface Pro (previous versions crashed with this model). Commit: 1eac7ce2e7d42d3b5ba7d6a02aed590e8737f663
I have installed this on my Surface Pro and there is no crash. After some limited use everything seems to be OK.
A couple of points.
1) It is not easy to see the settings in the configuration box as there seems to be a display issue with the number boxes (See attached screenshot)
2) The onscreen keyboard, and the Touch keyboard both seem to work fine, although I am not sure what command to put in the config box as osk.exe does not seem to work.
It would be great to have a quick way of disabling dwell click without having to keep going to the click bar. One of the main issues I get is unintended clicks, especially in web pages.

I bet there is some problem with the webcam.
Try running eviacam from the command line adding the -d switch and provide the output messages.
I.e.: "c:\Program Files (x86)\Enable Viacam\bin\eviacam.exe" -d
see attached. trying to use front camera
I'm physically disabled so if you can help me with this, it would be an enormous help.

I'm scared to run this. Chrome & Windows says it's dangerous.
It seems it is related to a Chrome feature that warns when a download looks suspicious [1].

Try downloading it from here [2].
