First, the =AB cat anyfile > /dev/usb/lp0 =BB didn't get any blinking red= or green light. ps2epl is already edited with =AB EPL5800L =BB DeviceModel setting. Furthermore, /etc/fstab doesnt have the line : none /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs defaults 0 0 I added the line rebooted the machine and tried again. Unfortunately, i didn't get any improvement. Also i tried the both commands ./ps2epl xxx.ps /dev/lp0 and ./ps2epl xxx.= ps /dev/usb/lp0. The first one did the job ( i get a printout test page), however all i get from the second is a blinking cursor in a shell console. Here i noticed that the cursor stays indefinitely in that position and so= i must type ctrl-c to stop the process for getting a command prompt. Doing ls -l /dev/usb/lp0 lead to a same line as the one you have describ= ed that is : crw-rw---- 1 root lp 180, 0 aou 31 2002 /dev/usb/lp0 so i did =AB ./ps2epl xxx.ps /dev/usblp0 =BB. As before, i didn't get any printout but now the blinking cursor disappears and i get immediately the command prompt, again no blinking light were seen on my printer. I don't know if this is significant for understanding the trouble but i think it = may help. Open to suggestions.
