Apologies to those who are confused by the -usb branch. 5800L/5900L USB printing already works without it, and the branch was ever only intended for the 5700L+USB combination, as it was mentioned in the initial announcement. I have withdrawn the 'epsonepl-usb' branch, because it has served its purpose (as a bundle for the introduction of experimental not-quite-portable means of solving the 5700L's bid and flow control problem when printing via USB). For those who haven't been following the -devel list, the ./configure script currently in CVS can do host OS and kernel version detection and can opt-out the non-portable code portions when built on non-linux systems, so the 5700L-specific non-portable parts are now fully merged back to the latest code in CVS and integrated. Before the next release, here is the recommended set up: ================================================ Model parallel port USB ================================================ 5900L v0.2.2 v0.2.2 5800L v0.2.2 v0.2.2 5700L v0.2.2 (CVS version required) ================================================ i.e. only the 5700L+USB combination requires the latest code, available only in CVS. v0.2.2, which was released nearly two months ago, is appropriate for any other combination, including the 5700L+parallel_port. |
